The collaboration between the Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts and the National Gallery Singapore has given birth to a groundbreaking children’s art exhibition titled “When Art Meets Nature.” This exhibition, taking place from July 2 to November 9, 2025, at the Taoyuan Children’s Art Center, showcases the unique perspectives of five artists from Taiwan and Singapore on nature. Through interactive installations, audiovisual works, multi-sensory explorations, and immersive environments, visitors are invited to contemplate the relationship between humans and nature, with a focus on environmental sustainability.

The exhibition is curated by Peng Hsiung from the Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts, in collaboration with Annabelle Tan, Elaine Chan, and Wang Tingting from the National Gallery Singapore. The artworks on display are inspired by water and hydrological landscapes, with artists like Zul Mahmod and Chen Po-I drawing from Taoyuan’s aquatic environments to create thought-provoking pieces that highlight the interconnectedness of human activity and nature.

In addition, the exhibition features immersive explorations of forests, habitats, and ecological diversity. Artists like Tan Zi Xi and Soh Ee Shaun have crafted interactive spaces that encourage children to engage with and learn about the diverse ecosystems that surround them. These installations serve as educational tools that inspire curiosity and appreciation for the natural world.

To deepen the ecological awareness fostered by the exhibition, a series of parent-child educational programs will be held throughout the exhibition period. From hands-on textile-making workshops to guided walks and picture book storytelling sessions, families are encouraged to actively participate in learning about the environment through art. Additionally, a dedicated learning area within the exhibition space allows visitors to engage with the collections of both institutions, fostering a deeper connection between nature and art.
