Samsung made an interesting announcement at their recent Unpacked event regarding their Galaxy AI tool – it will remain free to access for the time being. This decision comes as a relief to many users who have been enjoying the benefits of this artificial intelligence tool on their Samsung devices.

The question of cost has been looming since Samsung first introduced their suite of AI tools. Running AI queries requires significant cloud processing power and energy, not to mention the extensive research and development that went into creating these tools. Despite these costs, Samsung has decided to keep Galaxy AI free around the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, at least for the next six months.

Kadesh Beckford, Smartphone Specialist Product Manager at Samsung UK, addressed the issue of potential charges for Galaxy AI features. According to Beckford, there are currently no plans to introduce any charges for the existing AI features on Samsung devices. However, they are keeping an eye on market trends and may communicate any changes in the future. This leaves room for speculation about the future of Galaxy AI and whether it will remain free in the long run.

While the future of Galaxy AI remains uncertain, users can enjoy its benefits for now. Samsung’s decision to keep it free for the time being is a welcome one, but it’s clear that this may not be the case forever. As technology advances and costs increase, it’s likely that Galaxy AI, like other AI tools, will eventually come with a price tag. It will be interesting to see how Samsung navigates this challenge in the future.
