Spotify Expands AI Playlist Tool to U.S., Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand
Spotify has recently announced the expansion of its AI Playlist tool to the U.S., Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand, following its initial launch for Premium subscribers in the U.K. and Australia. This feature, currently in beta on both Android and iOS devices, allows users to create personalized playlists based on written prompts.
For example, users can input prompts like “a romantic playlist for date night at home” and receive a customized selection of songs to set the mood. The playlist can be further refined by adding more prompts, with Spotify also providing suggestions for prompts. The company advises mixing genres, moods, artists, and decades to create unique playlists tailored to individual preferences. Users can also add locations, animals, movie characters, colors, and emojis to further customize their playlist.
According to Spotify, the AI feature has seen success in the U.K. and Australia, with subscribers creating “millions of playlists that they keep coming back to.” The AI-powered playlist creation tool can be accessed in the “Your Library” tab by selecting the plus button (+) at the top right of the screen and choosing “AI Playlist” from the menu next to “Playlist” and “Blend.” Users can then tap the “Create” button to save the playlist to their library.
With the expansion of the AI Playlist tool to more countries, Spotify aims to provide users with a more personalized and enjoyable music listening experience. The tool’s success in the U.K. and Australia has demonstrated its popularity and effectiveness in creating playlists that resonate with users. As Spotify continues to innovate and enhance its features, users can look forward to more personalized and engaging music recommendations tailored to their unique tastes and preferences.
