Google Keep, the note-taking app from Google, is finally getting a much-requested feature that users have been eagerly waiting for. For Pixel smartphone owners, Keep is a go-to app known for its intuitive design and functionality. While it surpasses many manufacturer’s note-taking apps in terms of ease of use, it has been lacking in some advanced features that users have been hoping for.

One of these long-awaited features seems to be on the horizon. Android Authority recently uncovered evidence suggesting that Google Keep will soon introduce an in-note search function. Through a deep dive into the code of the latest version of Google Keep (version 5.25.282.00.90), the website found a hidden feature named ‘Find in note.’

Upon further investigation, Android Authority was able to access this feature within the app by tapping the three-dot menu in any note, revealing ‘Find in note’ as a new option above ‘Delete.’ However, at this early stage, the search function is not fully operational, leading to app crashes when triggered.

Despite the current limitations, the presence of this feature indicates that Google is actively working on enabling users to search for specific terms within their notes, a functionality that has been highly requested by Keep users. This addition brings Google Keep closer in line with other popular note-taking apps like Samsung’s and Apple’s, which already offer similar search capabilities.

While Google Keep may be late to the game with this feature, the prospect of an in-note search function adds a new layer of convenience and efficiency to the app. As Google continues to refine and test this functionality, users can look forward to a more robust and user-friendly note-taking experience with Keep.
