Season 3, Episode 8 of And Just Like That…: A Detailed Review

As a die-hard fan of Sex and the City, I had eagerly awaited the revival series And Just Like That… However, as the season progressed, I found myself becoming a bit complain-y about certain aspects of the show. Nevertheless, my love for Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and the gang kept me hooked. In this article, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on Season 3, Episode 8 of And Just Like That…

  1. The Sopranos Vibes: The static sound that plays before the show always makes me feel like I’m about to watch an episode of The Sopranos. Not that I’m taking sides in the girls vs. boys war.
  2. Purple, Why Not? Carrie’s question about the color purple really got me thinking. Why not indeed?
  3. Aidan’s Moving In: The confusion around Aidan moving in or not was a bit perplexing. It seemed like he already had, but then it turned out to be a prank.
  4. Couture and Comedy: The whole “guy makes Carrie shed her couture” storyline felt a bit tired, but the comedic twist with the prank was a nice touch.
  5. Editorial Praise: “Why do you need notes? You’re perfect.” Every writer’s dream is to have an editor who speaks to them like this.
  6. Balls-as-Beanbag-Chairs: Harry’s analogy was a bit off-putting, to say the least.
  7. Unexpected Visitors: Harry’s reaction to unexpected visitors while recovering from surgery was surprisingly calm. I would have been much madder in his shoes.
  8. Lisa’s Coping Mechanism: Lisa coping with her grief by fantasizing about her editor was an interesting development. Sometimes, fantasy can be a form of solace.
  9. Flirting and Working: The term “flirking” didn’t sit well with me. Can’t we just call it what it is?
  10. Gallery Drama: The dynamics at Charlotte’s gallery were intriguing, especially with the introduction of a gallery girl with an art history degree.
  11. Celebrating Messiness: The reference to women being celebrated for their messiness pre-Lena Dunham was thought-provoking.
  12. Milestone Marking: Joy marking a relationship milestone with gin was a very British thing to do.
  13. Sobriety Struggles: Miranda’s sobriety journey added a layer of complexity to her character that was both relatable and concerning.
  14. Carrie’s Quirks: Carrie’s aversion to grocery shopping was a humorous touch that highlighted her eccentricities.
  15. Family Dynamics: The storyline with Aidan’s troubled son wanting to live with his mom added a new dimension to his character.
  16. Unexpected Romance: Seema and the landscape artist’s budding romance was a refreshing and unexpected development.
  17. Quirky Beverages: The mention of pink seltzer had me intrigued. A quick Google search revealed it to be a Smirnoff product.
  18. Neighborhood Drama: The tension between Aidan and his neighbor added a comedic element to the episode.
  19. Deodorant Dilemma: Seema’s rock crystal deodorant choice was a red flag that signaled the end of her date.
  20. Timeless References: The mention of a man being referred to as a “cat” felt like a blast from the past.
  21. Support System: Miranda’s friends’ concern for her sobriety highlighted the importance of having a strong support system.
  22. Guest Appearances: Patti LuPone’s cameo added a touch of star power to the episode.
  23. Art Mishaps: Charlotte’s mishap at the gallery had me cringing in sympathy. Getting stuck to artwork is a nightmare scenario.
  24. Marital Strife: The tension in LTW’s marriage added a layer of drama to the episode.
  25. Entertainment Choices: The mention of Bi Bingo piqued my interest. It sounds like a fun and inclusive game.
  26. Emotional Rollercoaster: Miranda’s struggles with sobriety and Carrie’s writing woes added emotional depth to the episode.
