In a bizarre turn of events, a dreadlocked female bandit managed to break into a parked MTA subway train in Queens and take it on a one-stop joyride before disappearing without a trace, as reported by the police.

The incident occurred early Thursday morning at the Broadway station in Astoria when the unidentified woman seized control of the locked N train and drove it to the 36th Avenue stop. By the time authorities arrived around 4:30 a.m., the subway-jacker had already abandoned the empty rail car and fled the scene.

Described by the police as having long red dreads, the female suspect was captured on video surveillance entering the train through the conductor’s cab, which was parked in the station’s lay-up track. It is believed that she may have used a key to get the subway car running before embarking on her illicit journey.

Sources familiar with the investigation revealed that the potential teen outlaw matches the description of a woman who had been previously arrested for a similar subway heist several months ago. This suggests a pattern of behavior that authorities are keen on unraveling.

Interestingly, a similar incident involving two 17-year-olds took place last September at the Briarwood subway station. The teenagers, a girl wearing a pink shower-cap-like bonnet and a boy, managed to board an empty train and operate it for a short distance before crashing.

The investigation into Thursday’s daring escapade is still ongoing, with law enforcement officials working diligently to apprehend the elusive subway bandit and uncover the motives behind her audacious act. The brazen nature of the crime has left many residents in the area shocked and bewildered, highlighting the need for increased security measures to prevent such incidents from reoccurring.
