NBA fans couldn’t help but roast Jayson Tatum after his recent appearance on “The Tonight’s Show with Jimmy Fallon.” The Boston Celtics star joined Fallon to promote his new children’s book, ‘Baby Dunks-a-Lot: A Picture Book,’ which was inspired by his son Deuce.

In a segment that had Tatum participate in a rap battle with Fallon, fans took to social media to express their thoughts on his performance. Some fans compared it to a previous ad featuring Chet Holmgren and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for AT&T, calling Tatum’s rap battle “far worse” than the commercial.

Others described the segment as “cringe” and joked that Fallon was a better rapper than Tatum. Despite the mixed reactions, Tatum seemed to be enjoying himself during the offseason, following his gold medal win at the Olympics, where he faced criticism for his playing time and fit on the Team USA roster.

In addition to his basketball success, Tatum recently added children’s book author to his list of accomplishments with the release of “Baby Dunks-a-Lot: A Picture Book.” The book, co-authored with Sam Apple, tells the story of a toddler becoming a basketball superstar, inspired by Tatum’s experiences with his son Deuce.

Speaking about the book, Tatum shared his excitement about sharing a piece of his routine and story with the world. He highlighted a favorite part of the book where Deuce and his teammates take a nap, drawing parallels to the pre-game naps common in the NBA.

Overall, Tatum’s foray into children’s literature adds another dimension to his already impressive career, which includes being the cover athlete for NBA 2K24. Despite the playful teasing from fans, Tatum’s creativity and versatility continue to shine both on and off the basketball court.
