A young Florida woman named Esther Torres recently made headlines for her criminal activities involving luring rich men to hotels, pepper-spraying them, and robbing them of their luxury watches. Despite the serious nature of her crimes, Torres managed to avoid jail time and was instead sentenced to five years’ probation.

The incidents occurred at two separate hotels in Miami Beach, where Torres targeted unsuspecting victims. In the first incident at the Breakwater Hotel, Torres pepper-sprayed a man and stole his Hugo Boss watch, along with cash, Euros, and credit cards. The second incident took place at the Fontainebleau Hotel, where she used mace on another man and made off with a $22,000 Rolex Submariner watch, leaving the victim temporarily blind.

Surveillance footage from both hotels captured Torres leaving the scenes after committing the robberies, leading the authorities to identify her as the suspect. Mitch Novick, the owner of the Sherbrooke Hotel, assisted in the investigation by providing additional surveillance footage to help identify Torres.

Torres was eventually apprehended by police during a traffic stop in April, where she was found to have a child in her car. She was arrested and initially charged with two counts of robbery in the first degree. Despite being detained without bond initially, Torres was later granted a recognizance bond in June.

Following her sentencing to probation, Torres is no longer in the jail system. The case of this young “predator” who targeted wealthy men for their luxury items serves as a cautionary tale of the dangers that can lurk in unsuspecting places.
