Members of the rally group Southern Dash lent a helping hand at Lee Stream School by spreading wood chip mulch. “Dasher” and photographer Pat Courtney mentioned that in addition to their landscaping work, the group also donated school bags, jackets, and school balls to the 10 pupils. Even the school dog, Lulu, received a special school bag.
Under the leadership of organizer Murray O’Donnell, the dashers, hailing from various parts of the country, have been contributing to community projects for the past 12 years. Their projects primarily focus on children, and they also participate in a scenic rally across the South Island.
Throughout the years, the group has supported children by funding school camps and providing sports equipment, among other activities.
