The Gilded Age Continues to Shine: Season 3 Hits New Viewership Highs

HBO’s period drama “The Gilded Age” is proving to be a golden hit as it reaches new viewership highs in its third season. According to HBO, the fifth episode of the season garnered 4 million viewers in Live+3 viewing, surpassing the previous series high set by episode four just the week before with 3.8 million viewers. The show has seen a 20% increase in viewership compared to its previous season and has achieved its highest-ever weekly viewership on HBO Max.

Critically acclaimed since its debut, “The Gilded Age” initially struggled in the ratings but has steadily built its audience over the course of three seasons, with the current season proving to be the most popular yet.

In the latest episode, tensions between George (Morgan Spector) and Bertha (Carrie Coon) escalate as they discover that their daughter, Gladys (Taissa Farmiga), is struggling in her new life as a married woman in England. Meanwhile, George’s business concerns mount and Bertha becomes fixated on uncovering who among their staff is leaking information to the press. Elsewhere, Peggy (Denée Benton) finds herself caught between the affections of Dr. Kirkland (Jordan Donica) and Mr. Fortune (Sullivan Jones), while Marian (Louisa Jacobson) becomes engaged to Larry (Harry Richardson).

The star-studded cast for Season 3 includes Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Blake Ritson, Ben Ahlers, Ashlie Atkinson, Dylan Baker, Kate Baldwin, and many more talented actors. Julian Fellowes, the creator of the series, also serves as an executive producer alongside Gareth Neame, David Crockett, and Bob Greenblatt. Michael Engler and Salli Richardson-Whitfield are both directors and executive producers on the show, with Sonja Warfield as a writer and executive producer. “The Gilded Age” is a co-production between HBO and Universal Television.
