Two Arrested for First-Degree Murder in Lakewood Shooting

Two men have been taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree murder following a fatal shooting at a Lakewood apartment complex that left one person dead and two others injured, according to authorities.

Moises Elauterio Garcia, 43, and Xavier Gabriel Brionez, 21, were apprehended in connection with the incident at Winddrift Apartments, as announced by the Lakewood Police Department.

Law enforcement officers were dispatched to the apartments located at 1490 S. Reed. St. at 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, a deceased male, identified as 36-year-old Jose Camacho, was discovered in the parking lot.

Two additional victims, a man and a woman, sustained gunshot wounds but have since been released from medical care, according to Lakewood police.

Garcia is currently held without bond at the Jefferson County jail and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. Brionez is also detained without bail, although his next court hearing date remains undisclosed as of Friday.
