The highly anticipated fourth season of “Monster” is set to delve into the infamous story of Lizzie Borden, with Ella Beatty taking on the lead role. Joining her are Rebecca Hall as Lizzie’s stepmother, Abby Borden, and Vicky Krieps as Bridget Sullvan, a maid in the Borden household.

Lizzie Borden’s story dates back to the late 1800s in Massachusetts when she was accused of brutally murdering her father and stepmother with an axe. Despite being acquitted of the crimes, the sensational nature of the murders captured national attention and solidified Borden’s place in popular culture.

The case of Lizzie Borden has been a popular subject for adaptations across various forms of media, including TV series like “The Lizzie Borden Chronicles” and films like “Lizzie.” This upcoming season of “Monster” promises to offer a fresh perspective on this notorious tale.

Ella Beatty’s casting as Lizzie marks her second collaboration with “Monster” co-creator Ryan Murphy, following her debut in “Feud: Capote vs. the Swans.” Rebecca Hall, known for her award-winning performances in projects like “The Town” and “The Prestige,” will bring her talent to the role of Abby Borden. Vicky Krieps, primarily recognized for her film work, will make a rare TV appearance in Season 4 of “Monster.”

“Monster,” created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, first premiered on Netflix in 2022 to critical acclaim. The series has garnered praise for its compelling storytelling and standout performances, with Evan Peters and Niecey Nash earning accolades for their portrayals in the first season. With Season 4 set to explore the dark and intriguing story of Lizzie Borden, fans can expect another gripping installment of this hit anthology series.
