Florida Golfer Arrested for On-Course Assault

It was a stroke of rage that landed golfer Jason Hughes in hot water last week. The Florida man was arrested after losing his temper and attacking another player on a Kissimmee course for moving too slowly, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

Hughes was charged with aggravated assault following the on-course brawl that erupted in June. The incident occurred after Hughes repeatedly pressured the victim, who was playing ahead of him, to speed up his pace, as reported by Fox 35.

According to authorities, Hughes flew into a rage when he saw the victim chatting with his friend on the green. He then approached the unsuspecting player and began assaulting him, punching him in the face until their playing partners intervened to break up the fight.

The victim was left bloodied and bruised as Hughes quickly fled the scene in his golf cart. However, authorities were able to track him down using the credit card he used to reserve his round of golf.

On July 24, Hughes was taken into custody and booked at Osceola County Jail. He was later released on a $2,500 bond but is reportedly prohibited from playing golf on any public course.
