Alec Chisolm-Blockton Accused of Selling Guns to Federal Informants in Chicago

A man on parole for his involvement in the murder of a 14-year-old boy in suburban St. Louis is now facing new charges for selling guns to federal informants and agents in Chicago. Alec Chisolm-Blockton, 29, allegedly sold three firearms to undercover agents, as outlined in a recently filed criminal complaint.

According to prosecutors, an informant working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) contacted Chisolm-Blockton in early June to purchase two pistols. Chisolm-Blockton sent photos of a Springfield Hellcat priced at $700 and a Glock 48 for $800 to the informant, agreeing to hold them until late June.

Three weeks later, the informant met Chisolm-Blockton in an alley behind the 600 block of East 75th Street. Chisolm-Blockton allegedly handed over the pistols in exchange for $1,500, which was recorded by the ATF through audio and video surveillance.

On July 15, a second informant arranged to buy a pistol from Chisolm-Blockton for $750. The transaction took place in the same alley, where Chisolm-Blockton handed an undercover ATF agent a Sig Sauer 9-millimeter handgun in exchange for $800 in cash.

Chisolm-Blockton now faces federal charges for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was released on parole in December 2023 after serving a 10-year sentence for his involvement in the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy in Belleville. Despite his attorney’s argument that there was no evidence linking Chisolm-Blockton to firing the fatal shots, he was convicted in the case.

Aside from the 10-year sentence, Chisolm-Blockton also served concurrent terms for possession of a firearm as a gang member, according to records from the Illinois Department of Corrections.
