SixSense, a Singapore-based deep tech startup, has made significant strides in developing an AI-powered platform that revolutionizes semiconductor manufacturing. Their platform enables manufacturers to predict and detect potential chip defects in real-time, a crucial advancement in the industry.

Recently, SixSense secured $8.5 million in Series A funding, bringing their total funding to approximately $12 million. The funding round was led by Peak XV’s Surge, with contributions from Alpha Intelligence Capital, FEBE, and other investors.

Founded in 2018 by Akanksha Jagwani, the CTO, and Avni Agarwal, the CEO, SixSense focuses on converting raw production data into actionable insights to prevent quality issues and enhance yield in semiconductor manufacturing. The co-founders identified a significant gap in real-time intelligence within the industry despite the vast amount of data generated on the production floor.

Akanksha’s expertise in manufacturing, quality control, and software automation, coupled with Agarwal’s technical background in large-scale data analytics and AI, brought a unique perspective to the table. Together, they set out to modernize quality checks in semiconductor manufacturing, aiming to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

The SixSense platform provides engineers with early warnings for potential issues, such as defect detection, root cause analysis, and failure prediction. What sets SixSense apart is its user-friendly design, tailored for process engineers rather than data scientists. Engineers can fine-tune models using their own data, deploy them quickly, and trust the results without the need for coding.

In a competitive landscape that includes established tools and emerging startups, SixSense has already made significant inroads with major semiconductor manufacturers like GlobalFoundries and JCET. Their platform has processed over 100 million chips to date, resulting in faster production cycles, increased yield, and reduced manual inspection work for customers.

As geopolitical tensions reshape the semiconductor manufacturing landscape, SixSense is well-positioned to capitalize on new opportunities. With a focus on large-scale chipmakers globally, SixSense is expanding its reach into the U.S., leveraging its AI-native approach to meet the evolving needs of the industry.

In conclusion, SixSense’s innovative AI platform is transforming semiconductor manufacturing by providing real-time insights and actionable solutions to enhance productivity and quality. With a strong foothold in the market and a forward-thinking approach, SixSense is poised for further growth and success in the industry.
