Attorneys are currently representing over 50 individuals who are preparing to take legal action against Sean “Diddy” Combs for alleged sexual abuse, with more expected to join the lawsuit. Tony Buzbee, known for representing clients in high-profile cases, including the Astroworld tragedy involving Travis Scott, has partnered with AVA Law Group to pursue legal action on behalf of those who have accused Combs of abuse.
Buzbee described the individual stories as heartbreaking and emphasized the severity of the violations against the victims. Andrew Van Arsdale, managing partner at AVA Law Group, stated that they anticipate representing well over 100 individuals by the following week. He noted that the recent arrest of Combs by federal authorities has empowered more victims to come forward seeking justice and accountability.
Federal prosecutors in New York have alleged that Combs arranged parties where victims were drugged and coerced into performing sexual acts, leading to trafficking and racketeering charges. Combs has denied these allegations, with his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressing that Combs plans to testify in his defense.
Van Arsdale revealed that the abuse by Combs spanned decades, targeting victims in various ways, including promising career benefits, luring them to extravagant parties, and trafficking them across state lines for exploitation. The legal team plans to file cases in multiple states, focusing on events that took place in Beverly Hills, California, where many of Combs’ parties occurred.
The lawyers emphasized that each case is unique and will be handled individually rather than as a class action lawsuit. They encouraged victims to seek assistance from organizations like RAINN’s National Sexual Assault Online Hotline or the National Sexual Violence Resource Center’s website.
