Apple CEO Tim Cook Urges Employees to Prioritize AI Development

In a recent hourlong all-hands meeting, Apple CEO Tim Cook emphasized the importance of winning in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Cook delivered a passionate message to employees, stressing the need for Apple to excel in AI technology.

Following an earnings call where Cook announced plans to increase AI investments, the CEO reiterated this commitment to Apple staff. He declared, “Apple must do this. Apple will do this. This is sort of ours to grab,” underscoring the company’s determination to succeed in the AI space.

Despite introducing various AI-powered features under the Apple Intelligence banner, Apple has faced delays in enhancing its voice assistant, Siri. Cook acknowledged the company’s lag behind competitors, admitting, “We’ve rarely been first.” However, he drew parallels to Apple’s history of innovation, citing examples such as the Mac, iPhone, iPad, and iPod, where the company redefined existing products in a modern context.
