Rapper Soulja Boy Arrested in Los Angeles
Rapper Soulja Boy, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, was arrested early Sunday morning in Los Angeles after police found a firearm in the vehicle he was riding in during a traffic stop on Melrose, according to authorities.
Police officers pulled over the vehicle around 2:30 a.m. and discovered a gun inside, leading to Way’s arrest on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The reason for the traffic stop has not been disclosed at this time.
Earlier this year, Soulja Boy was ordered to pay $4.25 million in a sexual assault case brought against him by a former acquaintance he used to live with.

It is currently unknown whether Soulja Boy has been released or has sought legal representation in relation to his recent arrest.
The LAPD has not provided any further details or comments regarding the incident.
