A recent viral video featuring YouTuber Vikram "Vikkstar123" has shed light on Olajide "JJ," popularly known as "KSI," pushing for a Sidemen-themed NFT (non-fungible token) project. The one-minute-29-second clip from The Fellas podcast, shared on the r/YouTubeDrama subreddit, revealed that the YouTube collective was approached with the idea of launching NFTs during KSI’s "crypto era".
Vikkstar123 delved into the details of the proposed project, stating, "Oh, my goodness. This was KSI in his crypto era. We got this big, shiny presentation for the Sidemen NFTs one of 10,000. And NFT projects, especially back then, were like – launch an NFT project, make $20 million that day. What happens afterwards, ‘Everyone should make money, but if they don’t, who cares? You made $20 mil.’"
The content creator further disclosed that while JJ was enthusiastic about the Sidemen NFT concept, he personally opposed it and actively worked to halt the project. Vikkstar123 explained, "And we had this big, big, like, deck. And, like, JJ thought it was the best idea. And then, the other guys were unsure. And I was like, ‘I will not let this happen.’ So I had to do a detailed breakdown of every reason why I thought it was a bad idea. I was like, ‘I want to kill this dead now because I do not want there to be a Sidemen NFT.’"
Additionally, Vikkstar123 emphasized his reluctance to profit at the expense of fans and jeopardize the credibility of Sidemen’s other businesses. He stated, "I do not ever want to make millions of dollars at the direct expense of fans getting nothing for it. Useless token online. Also, with the way we’ve got a bunch of businesses, like, if you effectively scam people, or like, f**k them over with one business, everything else loses credibility."
In a separate development, KSI addressed the backlash surrounding his new business venture, Lunchly, which he co-founded with Jimmy "MrBeast" and Logan Paul. Responding to YouTuber Daniel "DanDTM’s" criticisms, KSI mocked DanTDM’s Youtooz and Tube Heroes toy line. However, his response was met with mixed reactions, with some netizens expressing a preference for DanTDM over KSI.
