Netflix‘s supernatural revenge thriller, “The Resurrected,” featuring Shu Qi and Lee Sinje in their Chinese-language streaming debuts, has just released its first teaser exclusively on Variety. Co-directed by Leste Chen and Hsu Chao-jen, the series is set in the fictional city of Benkha and follows two mothers brought together by their shared desire for revenge after their daughters are involved in a fraud and kidnapping case. With the help of a mysterious goddess, they bring back to life the deceased mastermind behind the scheme in order to exact their vengeance. However, even as they inflict punishment upon him, their anger remains unquenched, leading them to confront their own morality and the limits of justice as dark secrets begin to unravel.
The stellar cast includes Shu Qi and Lee Sinje as the leading ladies, Fu Meng-Po portraying the villainous scam kingpin, and special appearances by Golden Horse winner Alyssa Chia and Thai actor Sukollawat Kanaros. The ensemble is rounded out by Chung Hsin-ling, Caitlin Fang, Lin Ting-yi, Liu Chu-ping, Vivi Chen, Rexen Cheng, and Patrick Nattawat Finkler.
