Mass Shooting Leaves Two Dead and Six Injured Outside Party in Downtown Los Angeles
Early Monday morning, a horrifying mass shooting took place outside a crowded party in downtown Los Angeles, resulting in two fatalities and six individuals sustaining injuries. The incident occurred around 1 a.m., shortly after law enforcement disbanded an unauthorized gathering attended by approximately 50 people, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Authorities have confirmed the death of a man at the scene, with a 52-year-old woman succumbing to her injuries at the hospital later on. However, specific details regarding the victims and the circumstances of the shooting remain limited at this time.
The LAPD has yet to determine whether the attack was carried out by a lone perpetrator or multiple assailants, and whether there are any suspects in custody. Notably, prior to the shooting incident, law enforcement had already apprehended an individual for possessing a firearm during the initial shutdown of the party.
“Yesterday around 11 p.m. officers observed [at a] big party … an individual, possibly armed, go into the location. Officers shut down that party. One person was arrested for possession of a firearm,” stated the LAPD. “Shortly after the officers had cleared the scene … a radio call of ‘shots fired’ was broadcast at the same location.”
While the specifics of the shooting are still being investigated, it appears that the violence unfolded on the street outside the party venue. Detectives are diligently working to piece together the sequence of events that led to the tragic outcome.
Remarkably, this incident follows closely on the heels of another recent arrest made by law enforcement, where a man was taken into custody for allegedly shooting the driver responsible for ramming his vehicle into a crowd outside a nightclub in East Hollywood last month.
