Joy and creativity are at the heart of Vipoo Srivilasa’s artistic practice. The renowned ceramic sculptor, who splits his time between Australia and Thailand, is celebrated for his exuberant approach to life reflected in his sculptures.

Srivilasa’s sculptures, ranging from one to two feet tall, are adorned with intricate floral patterns, mandala-like motifs, and touches of gold. The figures, often with their fingers forming a V shape, embody a harmonious blend of the earthly and the spiritual realms.

A solo exhibition of Srivilasa’s work, titled “Iconic Figures: Devas, Deities, and Divas,” is set to open at Edwina Corlette in New Farm, Queensland. The show will showcase 15 years of the artist’s practice, featuring his signature white and blue ceramics alongside a newer exploration of terracotta, reflecting his cultural heritage.

The exhibition will run from August 20 to September 16, offering viewers a glimpse into Srivilasa’s imaginative and vibrant world. For more of Srivilasa’s work, visit his website and follow him on Instagram.

The sculptures featured in the exhibition range from the serene “Guardian Light” to the whimsical “Dancing Diva” and the striking “Sacred Flame.” Each piece is a testament to Srivilasa’s unique artistic vision, blending tradition with contemporary aesthetics.

By infusing his sculptures with joy and creativity, Srivilasa invites viewers to partake in a moment of contemplation and communion with the divine. His art serves as a reminder of the beauty and wonder that surround us, inviting us to embrace the magic of the present moment.
