Tragic Plane Crash Claims Lives of Four Medical Personnel on Navajo Nation

CHINLE, Ariz. (AP) — A devastating incident occurred on the Navajo Nation in northern Arizona as a medical transport plane crashed and burst into flames, resulting in the loss of four lives, as confirmed by the tribe’s statement.

The aircraft, operated by CSI Aviation based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, tragically went down near Chinle airport, approximately 200 miles northeast of Flagstaff. The individuals on board were medical professionals en route to retrieve a patient from a hospital.

According to Federal Aviation Administration officials, the Beechcraft 300 crashed during its landing at the airport, prompting investigations by the National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA.

At present, the cause of the crash remains unknown, as stated by the tribe.

In response to the tragedy, Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren expressed his sorrow in a social media post, emphasizing the profound impact of losing individuals who dedicated their lives to saving others.
