Kaylee Goncalves‘ father is in discussion with lawmakers about diverting commissary funds from murderers like Bryan Kohberger to fund their execution.

Steve Goncalves revealed that he is collaborating with Idaho legislators to ensure that convicted murderers like Bryan Kohberger reimburse the costs of investigating their crimes through their prison commissary funds.

Goncalves Family no credit 1

The Goncalves family is spearheading this initiative and occasionally consulting with Xana Kernodle’s family.

Initially, Steve envisioned using Kohberger’s commissary funds, donated by his followers, to finance a firing squad for his execution. However, due to a plea deal struck by prosecutors, this plan is no longer viable.

Steve is also distressed about the release of crime scene photos, including those depicting the bed where his daughter was murdered. He believes that such graphic details are unnecessary and only serve to sensationalize the case.

Remembering Slain Idaho Students

Steve believes that these graphic details, especially now that a guilty plea has been entered, do not contribute to the pursuit of justice but rather serve to sensationalize the tragedy.

Bryan Kohberger was sentenced to four consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole for the murders of Goncalves, Kernodle, Ethan Chapin, and Madison Mogen.

During his victim impact statement, Steve Goncalves directly confronted Kohberger, expressing his anguish over the loss of his daughter and condemning the murderer for his actions.

The Goncalves family has strongly criticized the prosecutors for offering Kohberger a plea deal following the murders.

While Steve Goncalves may not witness Kohberger’s execution by firing squad, his advocacy efforts could lead to significant changes in the state’s criminal justice system.
