First Lady Melania Trump’s Day of Engagement in the UK

Today, First Lady Melania Trump took part in a series of noteworthy events alongside members of the Royal Family and Lady Starmer, as part of the ongoing State Visit to the United Kingdom. The day’s agenda underscored the themes of creativity, community, and child welfare—principles that lie at the heart of the First Lady’s BE BEST initiative.

A Royal Tour and Creative Connections

In Windsor, the First Lady joined Her Majesty Queen Camilla for an enlightening tour of Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House and the Royal Library at Windsor Castle. Together, they explored a selection of historic works from the Royal Collection before meeting a group of schoolchildren engaged in creating and illustrating their own miniature books. The First Lady found joy in interacting with the children as they immersed themselves in their artistic endeavors. Each child was gifted a bag containing White House honey, complete with a commemorative tag, and a challenge coin from the First Lady herself.

Outdoor Adventures with the Squirrel Scouts

At Frogmore House & Gardens, the First Lady rendezvoused with Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales and U.K. Chief Scout Dwayne Fields for an outdoor program featuring the Squirrel Scouts. The children participated in leaf stamping and bug house activities, culminating in a ceremony where they received their “Go Wild” Badges, attended by both the First Lady and the Princess. The atmosphere was one of creativity and joy as the First Lady collaborated with the children. Each Scout left with a gift bag that included White House honey, a challenge coin, and a red, white, and blue Scouting America neckerchief. Before her departure, the Scouts expressed their gratitude to the First Lady through a heartfelt note, thanking her for the visit and wishing her a safe return to the United States.

A Private Luncheon and Military Display

In the afternoon, the First Lady made her way to Chequers Court for a private lunch with Lady Starmer. Following their meal, they observed a thrilling display by the “Red Devils,” an elite unit of the British Army Parachute Regiment, showcasing the remarkable skills of these military professionals.

Conclusion of the Visit

Later in the day, the First Lady attended President Trump’s Joint Press Conference with Prime Minister Starmer before concluding her visit to the United Kingdom.
