The World Athletics Championships 2025 are nearing their conclusion, and Team USA continues to dominate the medal tally with a total of 20 medals. Kenya follows closely behind with 10 medals, while Canada has climbed to the third position with four medals. Yesterday, Canada made significant progress thanks to Marco Arop’s bronze in the 800m event, which propelled them into the top three.

Team USA showcased its strength once again today by adding three more medals to their tally. Anna Hall clinched the gold in the women’s heptathlon with 6,888 points, while Taliyah Brooks secured the bronze with 6,581 points. Additionally, Chase Jackson contributed a silver medal to Team USA’s collection. Hall’s victory in the heptathlon marked a historic moment as she became the first American woman to win the event at the World Championships since Jackie Joyner-Kersee in 1993.

Kenya is also putting up a strong performance with six golds, two silvers, and two bronzes. Emmanuel Wanyonyi set a championship record in the men’s 800m to claim gold, while Beatrice Chebet won the women’s 5,000m race, with Faith Kipyegon taking silver. Marco Arop of Canada, the defending champion and Olympic silver medalist, secured bronze in the men’s 800m event.

At the previous World Athletics Championships in 2023, Team USA topped the medal table with 29 medals, including 12 golds. This year, the U.S. has already matched their gold tally from the previous championships, with additional silver and bronze medals.

The final day of the World Athletics Championships 2025 is approaching, with Team USA aiming to maintain their dominance. American athletes have been impressive throughout the competition, with notable gold medalists including Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, Noah Lyles, Rai Benjamin, and more. McLaughlin-Levrone secured her first global title in the 400m flat, while Jefferson-Wooden made history by winning both the 100m and 200m events.
