Shu Qi and Lee Sinje, two renowned Asian actors, are teaming up for the first time in Netflix’s upcoming thriller drama “The Resurrected.” The film, co-directed by Leste Chen and Hsu Chao-jen and shot in Thailand, revolves around the story of two mothers seeking revenge after their daughters fall victim to telecommunication scams in the fictional city of Benkha. The star-studded cast also includes Alyssa Chia, Fu Meng-po, Chung Hsin-ling, Sukollawat Kanaros (Weir), Caitlin Fang, Cheng Jen-shuo, and Patrick Nattawat Finkler.

The script of “The Resurrected” captivated both Shu Qi and Lee Sinje from the outset. Their on-screen chemistry added a touch of levity to the dark narrative, making the filming process enjoyable despite the intense subject matter.

In a recent interview, the actresses shared their thoughts on the project. Shu Qi expressed her attraction to the unique script and the opportunity to explore a different shooting style. On the other hand, Lee Sinje was drawn to the rare portrayal of women seeking revenge in a Chinese-language production. Both actresses praised the strong production team behind the series.

Working with directors Leste Chen and Hsu Chao-jen was a pleasant experience for both Shu Qi and Lee Sinje. They highlighted the directors’ different approaches on set, with Leste Chen bringing a more outgoing vibe and Hsu Chao-jen being the observant type. Despite having dual directors, there was no conflict on set, and the collaboration ran smoothly.

The characters portrayed by Shu Qi and Lee Sinje in “The Resurrected” are distinct from each other. Shu Qi’s character is described as chatty and nurturing, while Lee Sinje’s character is depicted as strong and independent. The contrast between the two characters adds a unique dynamic to their on-screen relationship.

The actresses also spoke about the chemistry between their characters, emphasizing the natural rapport that developed during filming. Despite the challenging and intense scenes in the series, Shu Qi and Lee Sinje found moments of dark humor and shared an unspoken understanding that enhanced their performances.

“The Resurrected” delves into themes of loss, revenge, and resilience, offering a fresh perspective on the thriller genre. Shu Qi and Lee Sinje’s performances are praised for their depth and emotional authenticity, adding layers to the complex narrative.

Overall, “The Resurrected” promises to be a gripping and engaging series that will keep viewers hooked from the first minute. With a compelling story, well-crafted characters, and the on-screen chemistry between Shu Qi and Lee Sinje, the series is set to make a mark in the world of Taiwanese dramas and Chinese-language productions.
