With election season in full swing, it’s crucial for teachers to make their voices heard at the ballot box. The outcome of this election will have a significant impact on education policies, school funding, curriculum, and more. Here are some key issues that educators should be concerned about:

– School and program funding
– Possible elimination of the Department of Education
– Arming teachers
– Book bans and CRT
– Gun safety and access
– Teacher pay
– Lawmakers’ control over education
– Private school vouchers and their impact on public schools
– Local bonds and elections related to school districts and boards

To ensure you’re well-informed about where your candidate stands on these issues, be sure to check out our detailed rundown. Additionally, take a look at what else will be on your ballot by visiting vote.org/ballot-information.

If you’re unsure whether you’re registered to vote, easily check your registration status with a few clicks. Some states even allow for same-day voter registration, so be sure to look into your state’s guidelines.

Finding your polling location is simple with the polling place locator provided by vote.org. And if you’re worried about not having enough time to vote after school, many states require employers to provide time off for voting. Remember, as long as you’re in line before the polls close, you have the right to vote.

Most states require a photo ID for voting, but you can check whether yours does by visiting usa.gov/voter-id. You can also bring your kids with you to the polls, as minors are allowed to accompany adults while voting.

After you’ve voted, share a graphic on social media to let your family and friends know that you’ve cast your ballot. Your vote matters, so don’t hesitate to make your voice heard. Remember, teacher voices matter!
