Brian Callahan faced heavy criticism as the Colts handed the Titans a 41-20 defeat in Week 3 at Nissan Stadium, marking Tennessee’s third consecutive loss of the season. The Titans head coach came under fire for a series of questionable decisions that contributed to the blowout loss to the Colts.

NFL fans took to social media to express their reactions following the game. One fan tweeted, “Fire Brian Callahan into the sun right now, this is pathetic coaching at its finest.” Another fan echoed similar sentiments, commenting, “Fire Brian Callahan.” A third fan expressed frustration with the long wait for Callahan, criticizing the delay in opening the locker room for the players.

One of the key moments of criticism came when Callahan opted for a 57-yard field goal attempt despite having timeouts and decent field position. The Titans’ botched substitution led to a delay-of-game penalty, followed by a blocked 62-yard field goal attempt. The Colts capitalized on the mistake and scored a field goal of their own.

In response to the missed field goal before halftime, Callahan defended his decision, stating, “Obviously had no intention to take a delay of game there.” He also praised the team’s effort, emphasizing, “They fight and they work… I don’t have any questions about these guys’ buy-in.”

The pressure is mounting on Callahan to turn the Titans’ season around quickly. Another loss in Week 4 could push the criticism to a breaking point.

During the Titans vs. Colts game in Week 3, Callahan was booed by frustrated fans as the team struggled on both sides of the ball. Rookie quarterback Cam Ward had a rough outing, and the offense failed to find its rhythm throughout the game.

Earlier in the season, Callahan came under fire for a misunderstanding of the NFL catch rule. In Week 1 against the Broncos, a controversial call involving rookie receiver Elic Ayomanor highlighted Callahan’s lack of knowledge of the rule. Despite Ayomanor making a catch with his elbow landing in bounds, Callahan failed to challenge the play, leading to a turnover.

Following the game, Callahan admitted his mistake, stating, “My interpretation of the rule was wrong. I’ll own it. We should’ve challenged the play.” The missed opportunity to challenge the call resulted in a lost possession for the Titans.

As the pressure mounts on Brian Callahan to deliver results and turn the Titans’ season around, fans and critics alike will be closely monitoring his decisions and coaching strategies in the upcoming games.
