According to Lemon, the presentations were less about honoring Kirk’s legacy and more about “demanding submission” through Biblical quotations.

The service, held at State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona, was attended by tens of thousands of supporters, reflecting the significant impact Kirk had on many within the conservative movement.

Dr. Frank Turek, a noted Christian author, provided poignant insights about eternity, stating that Charlie Kirk’s passing was instantaneous and that he was now in the presence of Jesus.

Erika Kirk, Charlie’s widow, delivered a heartfelt speech that was centered around the theme of forgiveness. In an especially impactful moment, she extended forgiveness to the individual responsible for her husband’s death.

“My husband Charlie wanted to save young men, just like the one who took his life,” Erika Kirk stated poignantly. “On the Cross, our Savior said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.’ That man. That young man. I forgive him.”

However, the following morning, Don Lemon criticized the memorial for its overtly Christian narrative, characterizing it as akin to a political rally rather than a genuine tribute. He remarked on Donald Trump’s presence, suggesting the former president appeared like “a man at the center of prophecy” when he dubbed Charlie Kirk a martyr, implying that Kirk’s death somehow ignited a divine mission.

Lemon asserted, “What we saw in that arena was not simply faith finding public expression; it was religious nationalism on full display.”
