On Monday, President Trump enacted an executive order that classifies the enigmatic left-wing organization Antifa as a “domestic terrorist organization,” as announced by the White House.
This move follows the president’s previous indications that he would impose a terrorism designation on the radical “anti-fascist” group last week.
“I hereby designate Antifa as a ‘domestic terrorist organization,'” stated the order signed by the president.

Moreover, the order mandates that “all relevant executive departments and agencies shall leverage all applicable authorities to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle any and all illegal activities—especially those involving terrorist actions—conducted by Antifa or by individuals claiming to act on their behalf, including the necessary investigatory and prosecutorial actions against those who finance such operations.”
In making this designation, the president highlighted Antifa’s “pattern of political violence designed to suppress lawful political activity and obstruct the rule of law.”
