âInappropriateâ to Be Associated With Ferguson.
Ferguson previously attended a gala fundraiser for the British Heart Foundation in 2019, now she faces charity fallout.
Organizations including the Teenage Cancer Trust, Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, Childrenâs Literacy Charity, Prevent Breast Cancer, the British Heart Foundation, and childrenâs hospice charity Juliaâs House have all severed ties with the Duchess of York.
Juliaâs House, where Ferguson had been a patron since 2018, emphasized that it would be âinappropriateâ to continue their association in light of the emailâs content.
In a statement, the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation expressed, âWe were disturbed to read of Sarah, Duchess of Yorkâs correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein. In light of the recent revelations, we have taken the decision that it would be inappropriate for her to continue to be associated with the charity.â

Fergusonâs email, which surfaced, was sent a year after she vowed to have ânothing to do withâ Epstein.
An email published by two British tabloids revealed that Ferguson previously wrote to Epstein in a message stating, âYou have always been a steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me and my family.â
This was written after Ferguson alleged she had severed ties with the convicted sex offender, labeling the friendship a âgigantic error of judgment,â and later claiming, âWhat he did was wrong and for which he was rightly jailed.â
Ferguson added, âI abhor pedophilia and any sexual abuse of children and know that this was a gigantic error of judgment on my part. Iâm incredibly contrite, and Iâll repay the money he lent me, never associating with him again.â
This statement came three years after Epstein was convicted for soliciting prostitution. He was arrested again in 2019 on more severe charges of sex trafficking before dying in custody.

Attempting to Mitigate Epsteinâs Threats
Ferguson has faced extensive backlash due to her links with Epstein and Prince Andrew.
According to Fergusonâs spokespeople, she decided to send the email to Epstein following his alleged threats of a defamation lawsuit against her.
The spokesperson stated, âThis email was sent in the context of advice the duchess received to defuse the situation with Epstein and his threats.â
Although Ferguson experienced swift backlash from the charities, it paled in comparison to the public outcry against Prince Andrew regarding his ties to Epstein.
After his ill-conceived 2019 interview, in which he attempted to deny allegations from Epsteinâs victims, Andrew was forced to distance himself from royal duties.

Prince Andrew attended public events alongside his mother, yet faced harsh consequences for his associations.
Andrewâs associations with Epstein only grew more contentious when Virginia Giuffre, one of Epsteinâs alleged victims, filed a lawsuit against him in 2021.
Faced with a scandal, Andrew was stripped of military titles and royal patronages by Queen Elizabeth II in January 2022 and prohibited from using his âHRHâ title in official contexts.
He was also banned from public appearances, including significant royal events like the Trooping the Color celebration.
In a later development, Andrew settled out-of-court with Giuffre for an undisclosed amount, estimated to be around $10 million.
Tragically, Giuffre died by suicide in April of this year, further shrouding the case in controversy.
