In a video shared on September 20, Luger, now 67, can be seen standing up independently, a feat once thought impossible due to his debilitating injury from 2007. In the heartwarming clip, captured during a session of DDPY Yoga, Luger initially struggles but ultimately manages to push himself up from his wheelchair, standing on his own two feet.

Dallas Page described the moment in an emotional video, saying, “To see him get up – because at one point I asked him to try to get some momentum and stand up, and he couldn’t. Today he did it, and I know he didn’t do it before that moment. I got choked up just thinking about it. That was so powerful.”

The online community has rallied around Luger, with followers offering their encouragement and support. Comments included praises for Dallas Page’s commitment to helping Luger and motivational words from fans: “Keep going, Mr. Luger! A lot of people want to see you walking
” and “Congrats, Lex, keep it up. You got this.”

Luger Praises ‘Special Friend’ Dallas Page

As one of the most well-known figures in wrestling, Luger’s journey back to health has been excruciatingly challenging. He suffered a major injury that led to him being temporarily paralyzed due to a spinal stroke. Once regarded as a quadriplegic with minimal movement in his limbs, Luger credits Page and his DDPY Yoga program for aiding his remarkable recovery.

“I’ve been working with DDP and DDPY Yoga and the people he’s put in my life,” Luger stated in an interview with Instinct Culture. “He’s a very special friend, and I encourage anybody to try his unbelievable programs. We’re making great progress.”

Luger hinted that his story is far from over, saying, “We got a surprise finish. The story’s not done yet, so we’ve got a surprise finish for everybody coming up. It’s real exciting.”

Luger’s traumatic injury occurred in 2007 when he suffered a trapped nerve during a workout before a flight to San Francisco. In recounting that fateful day, Luger recalled, “I had to get in that one last heavy workout
So that was my last heavy workout ever.” Little did he know that this decision would lead to life-altering consequences.

He explained the moment of injury while on the airplane, stating, “I felt a burning, stabbing pain between my shoulder blades. But football, wrestling, we get aches and pains all the time.”

Things took a turn for the worse upon his arrival at the hotel when he experienced difficulty breathing. Fortunately, help arrived just in time: “I couldn’t scream because my breathing was compromised
They knew when I didn’t open the door and it was locked; I had to be in there. So that’s when they called 911, and they came in and bashed my door down.”

The professional wrestling community looks forward to following Luger’s continued progress and cheering for him as he embraces this new chapter of his life.
