The anticipation builds around the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 series, set to debut early next year.

Recently leaked information has hinted at an exciting new feature for the upscale Galaxy S26 Ultra model. Android Authority has uncovered details about a suggested privacy feature.

The leaked lines from early builds of the upcoming One UI 8.5 operating system, which is likely to accompany the Galaxy S26 launch, suggest that Samsung is developing a “Privacy Display” or “Private Display” functionality.

This innovative feature aims to shield your screen from prying eyes by reducing visibility for those observing from side angles. It appears there will be multiple settings available: a maximum setting and a customizable manual setting that allows users to adjust brightness according to their preferences.

Notably, the privacy feature may be exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra model. Earlier leaks indicated that this top-tier device would be equipped with an advanced display technology dubbed Flex Magic Pixel, which utilizes AI to enhance screen pixels dynamically.

This privacy feature will enhance security when engaging in sensitive activities, such as reviewing bank transactions or inputting passwords while in public settings. While traditional privacy screen protectors are available on platforms such as Amazon, Samsung’s built-in functionality will allow users the convenience of toggling the privacy feature on or off as required, making it easy to share the screen when desired.

Beyond this confirmed feature, additional rumors surrounding the Galaxy S26 Ultra suggest a slimmer profile compared to its predecessor. Speculation points to a thickness reduction to below 8mm from the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 8.2mm. There’s also an expectation that the upcoming model will be slightly lighter than the current model’s weight of 218g.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to maintain the robust 5000mAh battery found in its predecessor, but it may finally offer faster charging capabilities—beyond the existing 45W wired and 15W wireless charging options.

In terms of photography, the camera system in the upcoming model is anticipated to closely mirror that of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It is expected to feature a 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, bolstered by an improved aperture, while the separate 3x telephoto lens could see an upgrade from 10MP to 12MP.

A notable enhancement rumored for the Galaxy S26 lineup is the introduction of a wider selection of virtual assistant options. Users have only had access to Google Gemini or Bixby with the S25 series, but discussions are underway with “multiple vendors” to broaden this array.

Furthermore, it’s not just the flagship model getting a makeover—the entire Galaxy S26 series is expected to feature a reduction in thickness, with the Galaxy S26 Edge rumored to be even slimmer than the recently launched 5.6mm iPhone Air.
