A striking new pavilion has been unveiled in Cradle of Country Music Park in Knoxville, Tennessee, bridging the gap between the city’s Old Town and theater district. Known as “Pier 865,” this vibrant structure is a masterpiece of modern design, created by the talented artist Marc Fornes of THEVERYMANY. Comprising tens of thousands of painted aluminum pieces, the pavilion is a feast for the eyes, offering both a place to rest and a unique vantage point in the heart of the city.

Designed using cutting-edge digital technology, “Pier 865” has a futuristic aesthetic that blurs the lines between art and architecture. The meticulous assembly of its individual elements gives it a pixelated appearance, as if it were a 3D rendering come to life. Painted in shades of green to complement the surrounding trees, the pavilion’s organic shape conjures images of alien flora sprouting from the ground, while a bird’s-eye view reveals a sinuous, reptilian form.

The pavilion’s unique design has already captured the imagination of passersby and art enthusiasts alike. Visitors can marvel at its intricate construction and dynamic form, which changes depending on the angle from which it is viewed. Whether you see it from the ground or from above, “Pier 865” is sure to leave a lasting impression.

To see more of Marc Fornes’ groundbreaking work, visit his website and follow him on Instagram. And if you’re in the Knoxville area, be sure to stop by Cradle of Country Music Park to experience “Pier 865” in person. This stunning pavilion is a testament to the power of art and design to transform public spaces and inspire wonder in all who encounter it.
