It appears that media criticism isn’t quite reaching the expected levels of disdain.
According to ABC News, Republican lawmakers are gearing up to scrutinize President Biden’s cognitive abilities. Interestingly, the framing of this endeavor on platforms like Twitter/X—and in the report itself—suggests that this is merely “what they call Biden’s decline.”
In contrast, numerous liberal journalists, including Jake Tapper, have been prolific in their discussions about Biden’s mental state, authoring books and embarking on extensive promotional tours. Yet, when Republicans opt to delve into this issue, it suddenly morphs into a contentious partisan witch hunt. One must wonder, since when did investigations become a taboo topic? The enthusiasm for investigative journalism seemed to peak when the focus was on Trump.
Consider the following:
Senate Republicans have announced plans to launch their own probe into former President Biden over his cognitive abilities while in office, claiming they want to investigate who was running the country during what they call Biden’s decline. https://t.co/4omKUnM1q3

From the report (emphasis added):
GOP senators plan hearing on Biden’s perceived cognitive decline
Senate Republicans are set to initiate a thorough investigation into former President Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities during his tenure, aiming to uncover who was truly steering the ship during what they characterize as Biden’s decline.
Republican Senators Eric Schmitt and John Cornyn will co-chair an unprecedented Senate Judiciary Committee hearing next month on this topic, asserting that the media has downplayed the issue. This inquiry resonates with former President Donald Trump’s frequent assertions regarding Biden’s mental fitness and concerns about Biden’s use of an autopen—a device for automatically signing documents that has been utilized by several past presidents, including Trump himself during his first term.
“We need to move beyond the media failures, which were indeed legendary, and the political divide of whether one is pro-Biden or anti-Biden. This matter transcends politics; we are facing a constitutional crisis with a president who may not be competent to lead,” Cornyn remarked on Fox News’ “The Will Cain Show.”
“What they call Biden’s decline…”
Well, @abcnews, what do you call it? https://t.co/WzaT72ekE8

The media continues to astound. Their biases are so entrenched that they fail to recognize their own perspectives.
