The suspect apprehended for a shocking boat rampage resulting in three fatalities in North Carolina has leveled an unusual accusation against Kellie Pickler. He asserts that she attempted to poison him last yearâa decade after their ill-fated date at the CMT Music Awards.
To unpack this odd narrative: Nigel Edge, a resident of Brunswick County, stands accused of a violent incident that left three dead and eight injured at the American Fish Company saloon in Southport on Saturday night.
In a twist of fate, Edge contends that Pickler attempted to poison him during the very night they attended the CMTs together in 2012, as revealed by court documents obtained by TMZ. Notably, despite his labeling it the CMA Awards in his lawsuit, a photo he included clearly shows them at the CMTs.
Edge alleges in his legal filings that Pickler presented him with a tainted glass of Jim Beam, claiming that he managed to evade death by choosing not to drink from it.
Interestingly, Edge is representing himself in this bizarre lawsuit. TMZ has reached out to Pickler’s team for a response but has yet to hear back.
But the plot thickens! Numerous articles have highlighted that during their attendance at the CMTs, Pickler brought along a wounded Marine as her dateâSgt. Sean DeBevoise.
TMZ has also secured a legal document revealing that DeBevoise filed a name change in 2023 and mentioned both his former and current names in a lawsuit claiming that a medical institution attempted to take his life earlier this year.
In a remarkable extension of his grievances, Edge is not only suing Pickler but has also implicated Brunswick Medical Center in a separate charge of attempted murder.
Edge elaborates on his health issues stemming from a 2006 injury when he was shot in the head while serving in Iraq, resulting in significant nerve damage and leaving him with a partially plastic skull, as detailed in his lawsuit against Brunswick.
As for Edge’s latest legal troubles, he is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
