Adam Schiff Shuts Down CNN’s Pro-War Propaganda

Since the first Gulf War, cable news networks have developed an almost insatiable appetite for U.S. interventions in the Middle East, transforming into a frenzy of excitement whenever bombs start falling in the region. The sight of military action seems to be their version of a blockbuster movie release, complete with dramatic commentary and analysis.

However, the recent bombing of Iran by the Trump administration has not elicited the same surge of patriotic fervor that characterized earlier military engagements like the first Gulf War and the Iraq invasion.

During a recent interview on CNN’s State Of The Union, host Kasie Hunt questioned Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) about the strikes, seemingly hoping for a positive spin on the military action.

Hunt asked Schiff, “Do you see any upside, any positive news for the security of the world in learning of the success of these strikes?”

In response, Sen. Schiff expressed his appreciation for the safety of the pilots involved and commended the military’s skill and bravery. However, he firmly asserted that the operation lacked proper authorization from the president.

“I want to express my gratitude that the pilots are all out safely and acknowledge the skill, the bravery, and the professionalism of all the military forces that were engaged in this military operation,” Schiff stated. “But it’s not an operation that should have ever been authorized by the president. The intelligence I’ve seen, albeit limited, indicates that while Iran has certainly enriched uranium, they have not made the decision to build a bomb or pursue the mechanisms necessary for one. In the absence of that, this is not a strike that should have been ordered.”
