FX Comedy “Adults” Renewed for Season 2
The popular FX comedy series “Adults” has officially been renewed for a second season. The ensemble show, which first premiered on FX in May, is set to return to screens in 2026. The series features a talented cast including Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Jack Innanen, Amita Rao, and Owen Thiele, and is created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw.
According to Kate Lambert, executive vice president of development for FX Entertainment, the show has resonated with audiences by humorously capturing the challenges of being a young adult in today’s world. The entire cast has been praised for their exceptional performances in bringing the series to life.

The show’s official description highlights its focus on a group of twenty-somethings in New York navigating the complexities of adulthood. The characters, portrayed by Elassal, Freyer, Innanen, Rao, and Thiele, share a living space where they experience life’s ups and downs together.
Behind the scenes, Kronengold and Shaw serve as executive producers of “Adults,” in addition to writing and creating the series. The show is also executive produced by Nick Kroll, Sarah Naftalis, Jonathan Krisel, and Rob Rosell, with FX Productions as the studio.
Prior to their work on “Adults,” Kronengold and Shaw gained recognition as writers on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” They are also the authors of the book “Naked in the Rideshare: Stories of Gross Miscalculations,” a comedic collection of short stories published by HarperCollins.
