India’s Abundantia Entertainment and InVideo, an AI video technology company, have announced a groundbreaking partnership to establish an AI-driven film production studio with an investment of INR100 crores ($11 million). This collaboration is being hailed as the largest structured commitment to AI-driven filmmaking in India to date.
The announcement was made at the India AI Film Festival, which took place at New Delhi’s Qutb Minar during the India AI Impact Summit 2026. InVideo hosted the festival, with sponsorship from Nvidia.
Over the next three years, the partnership aims to develop and produce a slate of five AI-driven films, utilizing the joint funds for development and production. The collaboration will be spearheaded by Abundantia’s dedicated artificial intelligence division, aiON, which will leverage InVideo’s generative video technology to revolutionize the conceptualization, development, and production of films.
Vikram Malhotra, the founder and CEO of Abundantia Entertainment, emphasized the significance of AI in filmmaking, stating, “AI in film-making is now real. With Abundantia aiON, we are paving the way for a future where AI enhances the filmmaker’s creative vision rather than replacing it. Our partnership with InVideo will establish a forward-thinking creative studio that combines human imagination, authorship, and intelligence to create innovative and emotionally impactful stories.”
Sanket Shah, Founder, and CEO of InVideo, described the partnership as an extension of the company’s mission to democratize filmmaking. He stated, “Partnering with a prestigious studio like Abundantia Entertainment allows us to expand our capabilities into the realm of high-quality filmmaking by developing tools and workflows that empower creators to bring their ideas to life with greater speed and freedom. This collaboration is about accelerating and enhancing creativity, not merely automating it.”
InVideo, backed by investors such as Tiger Global and Peak XV, boasts a user base of over 50 million in more than 190 countries and has secured over $50 million in venture funding. The company recently teamed up with Google Cloud to create AI-powered filmmaking tools tailored for studios, broadcasters, ad agencies, and large production houses.
Abundantia’s partnership with InVideo builds upon the studio’s aiON division, which is currently working on two AI-driven features, including “Chiranjeevi Hanuman” and “Jai Santoshi Mata: Sukh Sampatti Daata.”
Founded in 2013 by Vikram Malhotra, Abundantia Entertainment has a successful track record in both theatrical releases and streaming content, with projects like “Baby,” “Airlift,” “Toilet – Ek Prem Katha,” and the Amazon original series “Breathe.” The studio’s latest release is “Daldal,” a Prime Video crime drama series starring Bhumi Pednekar.
The alliance is in the process of curating its slate in collaboration with filmmakers, writers, and visual-tech artists and engineers. This partnership marks a significant step towards the integration of AI technology in the filmmaking process, promising to revolutionize the industry with innovative storytelling techniques.
