Prime Video has recently given the green light to a new original romantic comedy titled “Don’t Be Shy,” which is being produced by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt through their production banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions. Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani are also on board as co-producers for the project.
The film, written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, follows the story of Shyamili “Shy” Das, a 20-year-old whose well-organized life takes a turn for the unexpected, causing her world to spiral out of control. Mukerji, known for her work on popular Bollywood films like “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” and “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,” brings her expertise to this coming-of-age tale.
Nikhil Madhok, director and head of originals at Prime Video India, expressed excitement about the collaboration with the Bhatt sisters and praised the film for its blend of fun and warmth. He commended Alia Bhatt’s storytelling instincts, noting the emotional depth and entertainment value of the narrative centered around friendship, love, and personal growth.
The project’s emphasis on a female-forward perspective was highlighted by Madhok, who described the writing as fresh, relatable, and humorous, featuring earnest characters. The film will also feature an original score by composer Ram Sampath.

Prime Video’s Indian original content lineup includes a mix of acclaimed series like “Paatal Lok,” “Mirzapur,” and “The Family Man,” as well as original films such as “Shershaah” and “Sardar Udham.” With “Don’t Be Shy” joining the platform’s roster of content, viewers can look forward to another engaging and entertaining addition to the streaming service.
