Alison Brie Lands Lead Role in FX Drama Pilot
Alison Brie has been confirmed to star in an upcoming FX drama pilot created by Hannah Fidell and Gina Welch. The official synopsis reveals that Brie will portray a high-end DC madame who is forced to enter witness protection in seaside Maine with her daughter after a violent confrontation with her partner.
Originally announced in March 2023, the project initially had David Chase attached as co-creator and executive producer. However, due to scheduling conflicts with a film project, Chase had to step down from the show. Fidell and Welch will now serve as writers, executive producers, and co-showrunners, with Fidell also taking on directing duties. Nicole Lambert of Riverain Pictures remains on board as an executive producer, with FX Productions serving as the studio.
Alison Brie has garnered critical acclaim for her work on “Mad Men” and “Community,” as well as starring in “BoJack Horseman” and “GLOW.” Fidell, known for her feature film “A Teacher” and FX series adaptation, brings her expertise to the project, while Welch has worked on projects like “Clipped” and “Under the Banner of Heaven.”
Brie is represented by WME, Rise Management, and Sloane Offer, while Fidell is repped by Untitled, UTA, and Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz. Welch is represented by Untitled, CAA, and Johnson, Shapiro, Slewett, & Kole.
In addition to this pilot, FX has several other projects in development, including the drama “Disinherited” from Peter Gould, a “Snowfall” spinoff, and the drama “Seven Sisters” starring Elizabeth Olsen and Cristin Milioti.
