Rockstar Games has recently reintroduced the GTA Online Lunar New Year event, which will run from February 12 to March 4, 2026. This event offers players the opportunity to earn various free rewards, bonuses on specific game modes, and engage in special freemode activities.
As part of the Lunar New Year event, Rockstar Games has included special free rewards in mask shops and tattoo parlors that are related to horses, in celebration of the Year of the Fire Horse in 2026. Players can now obtain horse-themed tattoos and masks in GTA Online for a limited time.
Horse Tattoos:
Players can visit any tattoo parlor in Los Santos or Blain County during the Lunar New Year event to receive horse-related tattoos at no cost. There are four free horse tattoos available for players to claim before March 4, 2026, including the Sea Horse, Spartan & Horse, Horse Zodiac Sign, and Horseshoe tattoos. Normally priced between $4000 to $30,000, these tattoos are a valuable addition to any player’s collection, especially when they are free.
Horse Masks:
In addition to tattoos, players can also acquire horse masks for free from a mask vendor at Vespucci Beach. Five horse masks, including Pinto Horse, Brown Horse, Gray Horse, Black Horse, and Chestnut Horse, are available for players to claim before the event ends on March 4, 2026. These masks typically cost between $14,000 to $17,000, making them a worthwhile acquisition while they are free.
Other Lunar New Year Event Features:
Aside from free tattoos and masks, Rockstar Games has introduced several new features to commemorate the Lunar New Year in GTA Online. Players can log in to receive a special Red Year of the Horse tee, collect Yuanbao scattered across the map to earn GTA$, RP, and the Gold Snake Santo Capro outfit, participate in the new Lunar New Year Stunt Race – The Senora Derby, and earn 3x GTA$ and RP for completing any Lunar New Year Stunt Race (6x for GTA+ members) from February 12 to March 4, 2026.
