Aly & AJ, the sister duo who began touring together in 2005, are now embarking on a new adventure — bringing Aly’s son, Jack, along with them on the road. Aly, who welcomed her first child with husband Stephen Ringer in April 2024, is excited to see how touring will be with a kid tagging along.

“I think it’ll be really fun. It’ll be cool to do this and have a kid tagging along being raised by the rest of the band and the crew. I think that’s really magical,” Aly shared exclusively in the latest issue of Us Weekly.

For AJ Michalka, Jack has been a part of the band for a long time now, as Aly found out she was pregnant with him the night they played at the Greek Theatre in L.A. “There’s this throughline that he’s been with our band for a while and being an aunt is truly the best. It’s so fun,” AJ added.

The duo, known for their Disney Channel hits and successful music career, released their latest album, ‘Silver Deliverer,’ in May 2025. The album reflects their journey as female artists in the industry, especially with the changes that come with getting older and embracing their femininity.

“We’ve been doing this now for 20 years, and during the making of this record, I was pregnant with my son and ended up actually giving birth the first week that we went into production,” Aly shared about the album’s creation process.

Now that the album is out, Aly & AJ are eager to hit the road and perform the new songs live. “We’re excited to get these songs out on the road and play them live for people because I think they’re meant to be seen in a live space,” Aly expressed.

Before they embark on their tour later this year, the sisters shared some insights into their pre-show rituals. AJ emphasized the importance of drinking Throat Coat tea for vocal health, while Aly mentioned the inclusion of electrolytes and kid-friendly snacks like peanut butter and apples on their rider.

The duo also revealed their pre-show ritual of going out to eat before a performance, often cutting it close to showtime. They have a special sister handshake that they’ve been doing for 20 years before every show, a superstitious tradition they never skip.

With their new album and upcoming tour, Aly & AJ are set to bring their unique blend of music and sisterly bond to fans around the world, now with an adorable addition to their touring family.

Before hitting the stage, Aly and AJ always have a special band huddle and handshake ritual. They have trimmed down the handshake over the years to make it more manageable, but it still holds significance for them. AJ also takes a moment to pray over the audience and the venue before every show, setting the stage for a great performance.

When it comes to their favorite songs to play live, Aly loves performing “Don’t Need Nothing” from their past repertoire and “Places to Run” from their latest album. AJ, on the other hand, enjoys playing “Pretty Places” from their most recent album, “Blue Dress” from a previous release, and the upcoming song “Lasso.”

The crowd always goes wild for certain songs at their shows, with “Potential Breakup Song” being a fan favorite. The energy is palpable when Aly starts the song on her own, and the audience quickly joins in. Other songs like “Rush,” “Pretty Places,” and “Don’t Need Nothing” also elicit strong reactions from the crowd, showcasing the connection fans have with the music.

Reflecting on their craziest tour experiences, Aly and AJ recall almost missing shows due to blizzards and lightning storms. Despite the challenges, they managed to pull off memorable performances, with one show in Austin standing out as a favorite despite the rain-soaked conditions. Another unforgettable moment was playing for a group of Girl Scouts at their headquarters, where the wholesome and sweet atmosphere made for a unique and enjoyable performance.

Overall, Aly and AJ’s live shows are filled with energy, connection, and memorable moments that leave a lasting impression on both the artists and their fans. Their dedication to their craft and their ability to connect with audiences make each performance a special experience. It seems like every day there is a new health trend or superfood that promises to improve our overall well-being. From kale to quinoa, we are constantly bombarded with information about what we should be eating to stay healthy. One of the latest trends to hit the health food scene is moringa.

Moringa, also known as the “miracle tree,” is a plant native to India and Africa that has been used for centuries for its medicinal properties. The leaves, seeds, and fruit of the moringa tree are all edible and packed with nutrients. In fact, moringa is often referred to as a “superfood” because it is so nutrient-dense.

One of the key benefits of moringa is its high concentration of vitamins and minerals. Moringa leaves are rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, iron, and potassium, making them an excellent source of essential nutrients. In addition, moringa is a complete protein, meaning it contains all nine essential amino acids that our bodies need to function properly.

Another major health benefit of moringa is its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Moringa is rich in antioxidants such as quercetin and chlorogenic acid, which help to reduce inflammation in the body and protect against damage from free radicals. This can help to lower the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

Moringa has also been shown to have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, making it a powerful tool for fighting infections and boosting the immune system. Studies have shown that moringa extract can help to inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria and fungi, making it a valuable natural remedy for common ailments such as colds and flu.

In addition to its health benefits, moringa is also a sustainable and environmentally-friendly crop. The moringa tree is fast-growing and drought-resistant, making it ideal for cultivation in arid regions where other crops may struggle. Moringa trees also have deep roots that help to prevent soil erosion and improve soil fertility, making them a valuable asset for farmers in developing countries.

Overall, moringa is a versatile and nutrient-dense superfood that offers a wide range of health benefits. Whether you add moringa powder to your smoothie or enjoy moringa leaves in a salad, incorporating this powerful plant into your diet can help to boost your overall well-being and support a healthy lifestyle.
