Thinking about a seasonal refresh? It doesn’t need to be an extreme change—just look at Amal Clooney. Just days after showcasing elegant style in London with her flowing, waist-length hair, she has opted for a shorter look this fall.
It’s important to note that “shorter” is a relative term in this case. With hair that is that voluminous and beautiful (ahem, Amal), even a slight trim feels significant. “I trimmed off around six to eight inches,” shares Dimitris Giannetos, who is Clooney’s trusted hairstylist. “This is a haircut Amal has never had before.”
Leading up to the 2025 Albies, Giannetos and Clooney decided it was the perfect time for a color refresh. They deepened her natural brown base while adding warmth to the face-framing sections, creating what he refers to as “toasted almond.” The Scandinavian-inspired highlights, he explained to Vogue, are designed to keep her features soft and inviting. Giannetos swears by the L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Serum, which is effective for controlling frizz and enhancing shine, suited for both Clooney’s everyday styling and glamorous red-carpet appearances.
Giannetos succinctly describes Clooney’s updated hairstyle as a “power cut.” This transformation coincided with a significant announcement, as the human rights advocate revealed plans for her collaboration with the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which is partnering with the Oxford Institute of Technology and Justice to expand legal access for women and children by leveraging AI.
If you’re eager to emulate Clooney’s chic new hairstyle, Giannetos recommends requesting a cut that reaches the collarbone with blunt ends, complemented by a few elongated face-framing layers. Pair that with a sun-kissed makeup look using Charlotte Tilbury products to complete the aesthetic. “It’s refined and contemporary,” he asserts.
