The Future of “Summer House” According to Amanda Batula
The most recent ninth season of “Summer House” brought about significant changes, from Lindsay Hubbard’s pregnancy to Paige DeSorbo’s relationship struggles with Craig Conover, and her eventual departure from the show. According to star Amanda Batula, more changes could be on the horizon, and she is open to that possibility.
During the Business of Reality panel at the Cannes Lions event, moderated by Variety‘s co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh, Batula hinted at potential shifts in the show’s composition. She acknowledged the noticeable divide between the original cast members, who have settled into more stable lives, and the newer additions, who are more inclined towards weekend partying in the Hamptons. Despite this, Batula, along with her husband Kyle Cooke, Carl Radke, Ciara Robinson, and even Hubbard, will be returning for the upcoming 10th season of the show.
However, Batula hinted that Season 10 could mark the final chapter for the core group of veterans. She mentioned the possibility of the show evolving with the current cast or potentially branching off in a different direction, similar to a spin-off like ‘The Valley’. The decision ultimately lies with the show’s direction and fan feedback, with some expressing a desire for a younger cast who enjoy partying.
One thing that remains certain is Cooke’s commitment to the show. Batula humorously stated that Cooke plans to remain on the show indefinitely, joking that he might even have his funeral aired on ‘Summer House’.
In a more personal revelation, Batula expressed gratitude for the impact of her candid discussions on the show about her struggles with depression. She shared how fans have reached out to her, thanking her for being open and vulnerable, and how her story has inspired them to seek help for their own mental health struggles.
As the ninth season of “Summer House” wraps up, the future of the show remains uncertain, but one thing is clear – Amanda Batula’s authenticity and openness have resonated with fans and will continue to shape her journey on reality television.
