Amazon Prime Video is set to adapt the Carl Hiaasen novel “Skinny Dip” into a series, with the talented Amanda Seyfried taking on the lead role. Previously, the project was in development at HBO Max, but now it has found a home at Amazon Prime Video.

The series will be spearheaded by writers and executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, along with Bill Lawrence from Doozer. Seyfried will not only star in the series but also executive produce. Warner Bros. Television, where Doozer is based, will serve as the studio for the project.

The one-hour dramedy will follow the story of Joey Perrone, played by Seyfried, who finds herself in a predicament after her second anniversary takes an unexpected turn. She teams up with a disgraced ex-cop to seek revenge on her husband, Chaz, for his betrayal.

Amanda Seyfried has made a name for herself in both film and television, with notable roles in “Mean Girls,” “Mank,” and the “Mamma Mia!” movies. She has received critical acclaim for her performances, including an Academy Award and Golden Globe nomination for her role in “Mank” and winning an Emmy and Golden Globe for “The Dropout.”

Bill Lawrence, a fan of Hiaasen’s work, is currently working on the series adaptation of “Bad Monkey” at Apple TV+. The show debuted in August 2024 and was renewed for a second season later that year.

Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, known for creating “Once Upon a Time” and working on “Lost,” bring their expertise to the project. They have also worked on successful shows like “Felicity” and “One Tree Hill,” as well as writing the screenplay for “Tron: Legacy.”

Seyfried is represented by Innovative Artists Entertainment and Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, while Horowitz and Kitsis are represented by WME and attorney Jared Levine. Lawrence is represented by CAA, Yorn Levine Barnes, and Mortimer PR.

With a talented team behind it and Seyfried leading the way, “Skinny Dip” promises to be a captivating series that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project.
