Amazon and Apple are joining forces in the streaming arena, with Apple TV+ set to become available via Prime Video in the U.S. as an add-on subscription for $9.99 per month. This collaboration will bring Apple TV+ into Prime Video’s extensive collection of over 100 add-on subscription options, which already includes popular services like Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max, Paramount Global’s Paramount+, Sony’s Crunchyroll, and Amazon-owned MGM+.

The move to incorporate Apple TV+ into Prime Video is part of Amazon’s strategy to provide customers with a wide range of entertainment options all in one place, accessible through a single bill and app. Mike Hopkins, SVP and Head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, emphasized the convenience of having a diverse selection of premium programming available through Prime Video.

While Amazon and Apple already have a working relationship on the devices side, this new deal takes their partnership to a new level. Amazon’s Fire TV devices offer a native Apple TV+ app, and Apple TV 4K boxes stream Prime Video. The agreement to bring Apple TV+ to Prime Video will allow Amazon to offer the service to millions of subscribers worldwide.

Apple TV+ boasts an impressive lineup of original shows and films, including critically acclaimed series like “Severance,” “The Morning Show,” and “Slow Horses,” as well as star-studded films such as “Wolfs” and “The Instigators.” In addition to entertainment content, Apple TV+ also features Major League Soccer and Major League Baseball games.

Eddy Cue, Apple’s SVP of services, expressed excitement about making Apple TV+ accessible to a wider audience through Prime Video. Cue highlighted Apple TV+’s award-winning library of series and films from renowned storytellers around the world.

Prime Video, a key perk of Amazon’s Prime membership program, offers a wide range of original programming produced by Amazon MGM Studios, including hit series like “The Boys” and upcoming projects like “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” and “Reacher.” The service also includes live sports coverage such as the NFL’s “Thursday Night Football,” WNBA, and NWSL games.

Overall, the collaboration between Amazon and Apple in the streaming space is a win-win for both companies and their customers. By combining their strengths and offerings, they are able to provide a more comprehensive and diverse entertainment experience for viewers.
