Disgraced former Prince Andrew narrowly escaped a potential scandal as an upcoming book shedding light on the life of one of Jeffrey Epstein’s s– trafficking victims has been abruptly cancelled. Author Sarah McCarthy announced on Monday, January 26, that her book, titled “Blue Butterfly: Inside the Diary of an Epstein Survivor,” would not see the light of day due to “sustained physical and electronic harassment.”
The publisher of the book, TrineDay, revealed that McCarthy was unable to reach a contractual agreement with one of the survivors interviewed for the book, leading to the decision to halt its publication. In a statement, TrineDay expressed their support for McCarthy’s vision and commitment to publishing works that uncover the truth, despite facing adversity and personal risk.
Initially scheduled for release on April 13, the book had been in the works since May 2025. McCarthy, who spent five years researching and writing about the experiences of Epstein’s victims, cited safety concerns as the primary reason for halting the publication. She stated that external pressures made it impossible for her to proceed with the project without jeopardizing her safety and that of her loved ones.
While McCarthy did not disclose the identity of those pressuring her, she emphasized the importance of prioritizing personal security and well-being over the urge to reveal the truth. She expressed hope that establishing clear boundaries would allow her to return to a normal and peaceful life.
The book was intended to expose the network of individuals involved in Epstein’s criminal activities, challenging the notion that he acted alone. It focused on the story of Juliette Bryant, a victim who was recruited by Epstein and later trafficked to various locations under his control. The book aimed to shed light on the collaboration of co-conspirators who facilitated Epstein’s operations.
Prince Andrew, who was rumored to be apprehensive about the book implicating him, faced increased scrutiny following Virginia Giuffre’s allegations of sexual abuse against him. These accusations ultimately led to Andrew being stripped of his royal titles and exiled from the royal family by King Charles III.
Despite the cancellation of “Blue Butterfly: Inside the Diary of an Epstein Survivor,” McCarthy remains firm in her belief that the truth will eventually come to light. For now, she has chosen to prioritize her safety and well-being, stepping back from the project to seek a sense of peace and security.
