Anna Chlumsky and Leslie Bibb to Star in Cold War Crime Series “Top of the Rock”
Anna Chlumsky, known for her six Emmy Award nominations for her role in “Veep,” has been cast alongside Leslie Bibb, who received an Actor Award nomination for “The White Lotus,” in the upcoming Cold War crime series “Top of the Rock.” The series is produced by Iceland’s leading production company, Truenorth, in collaboration with Mystery Productions and Vertu.
“Top of the Rock” is set in 1983 during the height of Cold War tensions. The story revolves around Captain Diane Goodman (played by Bibb), a U.S. military police investigator, and MP Sarah Ellis (played by Chlumsky), who are stationed at the NATO base in Keflavík. When an American soldier is found dead under suspicious circumstances outside the base, Goodman and Ellis must work with the Icelandic police to uncover a complex web of espionage, betrayal, and political deceit. As they navigate through a dangerous network of secrets, they must balance their duty with diplomatic challenges to prevent further loss of life.
“Top of the Rock” is created by Davíð Óskar Ólafsson, Jón Atli Jónasson, and Ragnar Jónsson. The series will be directed by Ólafsson and written by Jónasson and Óttar M. Norðfjörð.

“Top of the Rock” is produced by Kristinn Thordarson, Ólafsson, and Ágúst Freyr Ingason, with Truenorth’s CEO Leifur B. Dagfinnsson serving as executive producer. The series is developed and financed by Truenorth, Mystery Productions, and Vertu, with casting led by Emmy Award-winning casting director Alexa L. Fogel.
